Maybe."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are convinced that we have found Frank &#8220;McCallum&#8217;s&#8221; parents! \u00c2\u00a0Hard to believe. \u00c2\u00a0DNA testing has been the key resource.<\/p>\n<p>A short summary:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Frank was born\u00c2\u00a0October \u00c2\u00a07, 1890 not October 27, 1891 as he believed.<\/li>\n<li>He was born in Saginaw, Michigan not Detroit as he believed. \u00c2\u00a0He did live in Detroit for a number of years.<\/li>\n<li>Frank&#8217;s \u00c2\u00a0mother was Juliana Lugiewicz who married Joseph Franckowiak in 1892 in Saginaw. Clara Lugiewicz, who Frank put on his WWI Military Attestation as his Next Of Kin, was his aunt, Julia&#8217;s brother Andrew&#8217;s wife. \u00c2\u00a0From the beginning of this eight\u00c2\u00a0year search we had wondered if Clara was Frank&#8217;s mother. \u00c2\u00a0His mother, Julia, died in 1911 of tuberculosis, which&#8211;we believe&#8211;is why he named his Aunt Clara as his NOK. \u00c2\u00a0Juliana was born in 1867 in Germany\/Poland, immigrating to Saginaw in 1884.<\/li>\n<li>Frank&#8217;s father was Carl Henry Weil from\u00c2\u00a0Randegg, Konstanz, Baden-W\u00c3\u00bcrttemberg, Germany. \u00c2\u00a0It is a 50 minute drive from Zurich, Switzerland. \u00c2\u00a0He and a handful of brothers immigrated to Saginaw\/Toledo from 1884. They set up a number of fruit wholesale and grocery retail businesses. Eventually, in the early 1890s he moved to Chicago. \u00c2\u00a0Then they moved into the cardboard and paper business\u00c2\u00a0running <em>Cromwell Paper<\/em> Co.<\/li>\n<li>The Weil family of Randegg has a celebrated history including many highly respected Rabbis. \u00c2\u00a0One family history goes back to 1135.<\/li>\n<li>It has been quite a search, over 4 continents and four thousand years. \u00c2\u00a0It has been very rewarding.<\/li>\n<li>Frank had ten half siblings. \u00c2\u00a0Three of Julia&#8217;s children died young.\u00c2\u00a0Meeting\u00c2\u00a0many living cousins\u00c2\u00a0has been quite wonderful. \u00c2\u00a0This continues.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There is a great deal that we do not yet know about Frank&#8217;s background, including where he picked up the name McCallum. \u00c2\u00a0We have some clues but no evidence yet. \u00c2\u00a0It appears that he lived with his mother and step-father for a number of years, even up to 1900.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are convinced that we have found Frank &#8220;McCallum&#8217;s&#8221; parents! \u00c2\u00a0Hard to believe. \u00c2\u00a0DNA testing has been the key resource.
